Last week, Atlassian and Droga5 launched "Impossible Alone," a campaign showcasing the importance of collaboration. As part of this initiative, we launched The Dreamkeeper, an AI tool that helps preserve your dreams. The collaboration involved Addition, Active Theory, and Dream Scientists from Harvard.
How It Works
The Dreamkeeper utilizes multiple generative models to make the process of remembering, visualizing, and preserving your dreams possible.
Here's a quick overview of how it works:
To remember your dream, a ChatGPT-powered assistant prompts you with specific questions and adapts to your inputs.
A Stable Diffusion Model generates an image by consuming keywords from ChatGPT and a summarized description of your dream.
The image feeds into an image-to-video pipeline, creating an AI-powered animation of your dream.
GPT embeddings organize the preserved dreams in a gallery by similarity.
Remembering Your Dreams
Remembering your dreams can be a challenge, but our AI tool can help. The Dream Scientists on our team found that most people struggle to remember their dreams if they don't write them down first thing in the morning. Our AI asks questions that jog your memory and help you recall visual details. As you remember more, the AI generates visual previews using Stable Diffusion.
Visualizing Your Dreams
To visualize your dreams, the AI analyzes your dream to extract visual keywords. Your description is then fed into a visualization pipeline, which transforms your text into an AI Art Prompt. The image is then animated using a dynamic interpolation effect in an AI-powered text-to-video pipeline.
Once your dream is generated, it becomes part of The Dreamkeeper Gallery. You can share your dream and explore similar dreams from others. We use classical machine learning and generative AI to organize dreams based on similarity by turning each dream into a large language vector embedding.
The Future of Dream Recording
While The Dreamkeeper relies on self-reporting, recent studies suggest that AI can record and visualize your dreams directly via fMRI brain scans. In the future, you might wake up to an accurate recording of your dream that you could watch, rewind, fast-forward, and share.
